Crafty Brilliance: Final Approach
There were many amazing things to see at the Big Crafty, however, Final Approach blew my mind…

Your eyes do not deceive you. That is Kim Jon Il on a vintage Samsonite...amazing. These functional funkadelic suitecases are described by artist Jon Pemberton as "traveling art.” The up-cycled vintage pieces are meant to be fully functioning luggage, the materials he uses are both durable and colorfast and apparently those old hard shells last forever.
Jon says. “We live in a culture were everything is can be customized, yet we all have the same black fabric roll on suitcases.” As a girl who loves to travel and searched far and wide for a hard shell case that was anything but black (mine has polka-dots, big surprise), I can totally respect where he is coming from. Although, I might have to trade ‘big-polka’ in on a Biz Markie model, because Final Approach, Baby, YOU GOT WHAT I NEEEEEEED!

You can view the whole collection, and buy one of theses masterpieces for yourself (they are so reasonably priced!) at the Final Approach Esty Store.
